Improving Blog Posts With Pictures

Homepreneurs is a simply a home business blog with related resources and information.  You may wonder: Why are so many postings about blogs and blogging on here?  We are looking for job ideas, not blogging tips!  Stop and consider this: blogs help a home or small business in a few ways:

–        Create a collection of photos, videos, links to resources, and testing platform for products not ready for market yet.

–        Share information about you, your product, and your plans.

–        Improve SEO by linking blogs with websites, social media platforms and online shops.

–        Generate leads and open doors to current and potential customers.

But how do pictures help me with the blog?  I often put pictures or images in Homepreneurs blog posts.  There are many good reasons for including visual images in blog and I’ll cover some popular reasons.  I will also provide links to 5 websites where you can download pictures for free.

First, your blog needs life.  Text is BORING, dull, tedious, and will lose readers as it drones on, valuable content or not.  Images give your blog LIFE and make the blog grab a reader’s attention.

Second, pictures help with navigation.  Readers will remember images long before specific text.

Third, images take up text space.  Imagine a 500 or 1000 word blog.  Short attention spans require creative thinking and creative layout.  Pictures can make a 500 word article look like 750 or 1000 words.

Fourth, a humorous or notable picture will help people remember your blog and make them want to come back to see what you’ll come up with next!  A little appropriate humor can work miracles.

Fifth, pictures can bring extra traffic.  People searching for pictures – especially current topics – will land on your blog more frequently.  And generating traffic is what you want, right?

Sixth, the old adage: pictures say a thousand words.  Words cannot evoke the same emotion as pictures, no matter how well written.  A simple picture can say everything you want and more.

Seventh, break up large blocks of texts with pictures.  Readers are easily annoyed by trying to work through a treatise of material.  If you’ve lost them, they won’t return.

Eighth, pictures can show people what you actually produce or the process involved.  Imagine a small machine shop with presses and raw material.  Pictures can show workers producing your product!

Pictures have many valuable features in blogs and I strongly suggest you use them.  Be careful to be topical and considerate of others sensitivity.

Here are websites with free pictures for your use:

–        Stockvault

–        Woophy

–        Morguefile

–        FreeDigitalPhotos

–        Unprofound

Pictures make blogs look so much better in my opinion. That is why I always spend a long amount of time to get a decent picture that I think will interest people into reading the article. It makes the index page look so much better.

Agree. I nothing else, it could be a saving grace of what could otherwise be a dull content. it gives a break to the barren landscape
