Business opportunities are the most important reason for Homepreneurs. Everything else is ancillary to owning or creating a business. We write about marketing, financial matters, social media tips, and many others. These tips are quite useful but do not offer the income, purpose or goals you chase.
Continuing recent articles, this is another with several business options for any market, good or bad. These are services that companies will pay to have others perform. These opportunities are often home-based and pay well. Click on the links to research more about and to take advantage of these options.
– Computer Consulting: Virtually every business uses technology at some level. Small business owners are busy with daily business tasks and have little time or inclination to remove the malware that infected the computers. Backups? Probably once a year or so, though losing a year’s worth of customer data could be very damaging. There is a need for small and home business computer consultants: I was one in the past. Technical training and experience are important as are strong customer service skills. Some good resources: ICCP and ICCA. Both are professional organizations for computer consultants.
– Bookkeeping: As with technology, business people often have little time or desire to do the tedious work of accounting. When times are difficult, these jobs are often the first outsourced to a professional. Some bookkeepers specialize of course, in accounts receivable or payroll, while some bookkeepers work in specific industries: Retailers, doctors or lawyers. More information about professional bookkeepers is found at the American Institute of Professional Bookkeepers (AIPB).
– Paralegal Services: All business entities need legal services from time to time. Some of these functions are basic: Leases, contract reviews, and various forms. Some paralegals are independent and much less expensive than an attorney while others work with an attorney or a law firm. The demand for paralegals is expected to grow considerably over the next 5 to 10 years. For more information, consult the American Association of Paralegal Education (AAFPE).
Each of these positions is an always in-demand field to seek employment or to start a business. As always, do your research and homework before deciding. Best wishes for your success!
